STAYING GLAM

Make-up Secrets to staying Glam ~by Krys Kutie

The basics: Skin care! The best thing you can do for your skin is to take care of it. Drink lots of water, tons of fruits and veggies; sometimes it’s what you put in your body that makes the outside bloomJ.Treat your skin like the finest piece of silk you own. Have acne- take the time to seek medical attention- that’s what dermatologists are there for. No medical insurance no problem…Glam Sense has you covered: try these products (at your own discretion) Clean and Clear, Neutrogena, or Oil of Olay, just to name a few… Basically have a good cleansing routine –It’s important.

Glam Sense secrets to a dewy, smooth complexion:
Hiding imperfections in a rush- just add concealer to the blemishes and blend –a little goes a long way! Finish with adding loose powder or compressed powder. (Glam Sense favorites are Bobbi Brown, MAC, IMAN, and for our frugal fashionistas- Cover Girl and Revlon are great too.
Make-up application for a flawless look: Apply foundation to your cheeks, forehead, and chin (t-zone and blend) using a foundation brush, sponge, or clean fingertips. Blend the foundation all the way to your natural hairline with long, light strokes. GLAM TIP: blending over the jawline and onto your neck is key to achieve a seamless look. If your under-eye circles or red spots are still showing DO NOT add more foundation; it can look heavy and cakey. Instead, try a concealer. Glam Sense Tip: Always check your face and neck in natural light to make sure the foundation is completely blended in all areas and it’s the correct color for your skin. When testing out shades, choose the one that matches the skin tone of your jawline precisely. Use a mirror outdoors to see how shades look in natural light. Also our favorite Glam make-up tip for daytime – mix your foundation with a lightweight SPF moisturizer with a little bronzing powder for a nice natural glow!
Lash Perfect: You have several choices when it comes to false lashes: Buy a full set of false lashes or small clusters of individual lashes. A full lash creates thick lashes, whereas individual lashes fill out your own sparse ones. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on false lashes; you can get nice ones in the drugstore/beauty supply stores and use them a couple times before throwing away! Or Shop online.

To prep for the application, curl your real lashes with an eyelash curler. Apply a liquid or pencil eyeliner to eyes to conceal the lash roots. Trust me it’s needed! If you choose to apply individual lashes, put a little drop of lash glue on a hard surface. Let it dry for a minute until it becomes sticky. Use a tweezers to pick up eyelashes and dip the root in the adhesive. Or if using a full set, apply a tinny strip of glue along the base of the lashes using either a toothpick or a fine makeup brush. Glam Sense Tip: Avoid applying glue with your fingers, it gets messy really fast. Use your fingers to hold the lashes and apply on the lid as close to the roots as possible from the outer corner of the eye in. use the end of the tweezers or Q-tip to press lashes in place. Lastly, let them dry for a couple minutes and add eye makeup. Favorite lash look to do is creating cat eye by lining the upper lashes with a black liquid liner, drawing a wing at the outer corner of the eye and then working back from the outside in.J

Create a rosy glow: You want your cheeks to look soft and natural not clown like and overdone. Lightly blow on the blush brush to remove any excess blush before applying. It helps prevent a harsh and uneven application. Next, apply your blush on the apple of your cheek and blend towards your natural hairline. Always highlight your temples, forehead and chin.
The Flawless finish: Adding a light loose powder sets foundation and concealer, giving your face a nice velvety and natural finish. First, lightly dust powder brush in loose powder. Shake off excess to avoid uneven distribution, and then apply powder over entire face and neck. Please do not stop at the face..you’ll look like a clown if you do! Glam Sense Tip: Face powder can be used alone over your foundation or even your moisturizer for a sheer and natural look. IF YOU ARE OVER THE AGE OF 30, AVOID PUTTING EXESSIVE AMOUNT OF POWDER UNDER THE EYES, IT CAN MAKE WRINKLES APPEAR MORE OBVIOUS!!!

Make your pout Glam Perfect: Apply color onto the center of your lips, blending up and out to the lip line working towards the corners. Longer lasting colors, delicately blot with tissue, then reapply lipstick and blot again. Glam Sense Tip: For the evening, select a lipstick one or two shades deeper than your daytime color, it gives a sexier –Glammed up look!
