Glam Sense Kids Star Search 2012 was a great success; the show took place Saturday July 21 in the auditorium of Phillip Sousa High School. The kids gave the audience a great show, and all their hard work and dedication paid off. The star-studded panel of judges was Spindarella, original member of Salt & pepa, Gabrielle Mancuso -Miss Massachusetts USA pageant 2012, Morvia Reid Williams -fashion designer, Ana Maria Lawson- runway model and actress, Areil-recording artist and songwriter and fashion designer D’Marsh. Not to mention the fabulous hosts Miss Jamaica 2009 Diane Johnson and Professional Dancer Erin Lindsay.
The Judges and Hosts were amazed at all the strong talent that was showcased that evening. Each child gave a brilliant performance. With that being said, we also had Young Meio who captivated the audience with his amazing talents. All the way from ATL, he brought the south with him and electrified the show. Grenade-Apollo star also tore the house down with his grand performance; the panel of judges and audience was amazed with his strong talents. Nevertheless, The couture dolls, Twizzy-daughter of Spindarella and Dalia Rae gave a lasting impression with their performances. Overall, the show was extremely successful. The parents were in awe with the magnificent talents that was in the building.
The show began with a‘celebrity look -a -like’ kids fashion show that gave tribute to some of our leading super models like Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Iman and other celebs such as- Nicki Minaj, Justin Beiber, Jaden Smith, Whitney Houston, were among some of the big names impersonated. The fashion show was one of the biggest highlights of the evening with a star-studded line up.
In the end, out of the 15 contestants, the top five were nine years old Rubyanna Pierre, thirteen years old Margaret Lutumba, nine years old Vivica Williams, eleven years old Margette Abozie and the winner -thirteen year old Joseph Bacasta who took the Title of Glamsense Kids Star Search 2012 with all his amazing prizes which included a $500 limo ride from Dwilshire Limosine and a appearance on D2xx Realitydancet.v.net. The winner –Joseph Bacasta was so ecstatic and his parents were also happy for him.
Director Madonna told street hype that she was so proud of all the kids and parents who came out to support the show. All the kids are all winners, and this is the start of something big. We are so excited to make this show a national show in the near future!
